Stuart’s early career included periods of rapid advancement within organisations as diverse as the Royal Australian Air Force, KPMG, and Heinz, developing his broad experience in aerospace engineering, IT, finance and psychology.

A potentially devastating diagnosis of brain cancer in 2002 led Stuart on a personal journey back to physical, cognitive, emotional and spiritual health. The experience afforded Stuart a unique appreciation of the tangible benefits of the wellness and mindfulness practices that helped him overcome a 2.5-year prognosis and demanding cancer treatments.

Stuart became a strong advocate for incorporating cultural practices into the Australian workplace to nurture well-being through the body, heart, mind and spirit. Stuart formalised this resolve in 2003, founding The Resilience Institute in Australia – now Springfox.

Stuart’s broadened perspective and empathy-based approach enables him to identify challenges and customise effective strategies for clients seeking optimal organisational performance.

His generous and open style of presentation ensures an environment for participants of Springfox Learning Labs to deepen their self-awareness, giving them confidence, space and knowledge to assess their current approach to life.

Stuart has been widely praised by participants as a strong and empathic speaker, facilitator, and executive coach who uses his expertise, humility and humour to inspire participants to make positive change.

Stuart’s ultimate purpose is helping people and organisations, typically through leadership and senior teams, shift into a more compassionate space in order to reach sustainable high performance. This top-down approach, across a wide range of clients in the corporate, government and education sectors, is led by Stuart’s belief that organisational culture can operate with an increasing emphasis on humanity.

Stuart’s academic achievements include Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering Ist Class Honours (UNSW), Graduate Diploma Information Systems with Distinction (QUT), Graduate Diploma Applied Finance with Distinction (Macquarie University) and Graduate Diploma Psychology with High Distinction (Monash University). Stuart is an ambassador for Cure Brain Cancer Foundation and a board member of The Gawler Cancer Foundation.

"Stuart is a great facilitator and a very engaging presenter. This program was very relevant to our organisation as we are going through tremendous change, and having the skills to cope with that change and look after ourselves at the same time is just fantastic.”

CEO, Large Energy Corporation

"Not often does one walk out of a training session and feel that the information given would translate to much or anything long-term. Stuart provided informative and practical ways of understanding and improving resilience in a manner that I could relate to. Best personal development training I have done in my 8 working years."
